1. Losing your passport in Japan

There are two things you need to do after discovering you’ve lost your passport: report the loss to the nearest police station and apply for a replacement at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.

Finally, don’t forget to obtain a lost passport report from the police station as proof for later retrieval.

In the unfortunate event that more than a week has passed and the police station where you reported the loss has not contacted you, be prepared for the possibility of not being able to find your passport and immediately go to the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Japan to apply for a replacement. 2. Losing your Alien Registration Card
